[EVENT] Welcome to the City!

The rift is rather quiet, lately. It has been for some time. Long-time members of the city know better though - that was only the calm before the mechanical storm. Soon enough, the rift rumbles again and a new wave of visitors begin to arrive all at once!

Some of these newcomers might notice a bright red metal device fit perfectly to their wrist. There is no apparent way to remove the device and any attempts to break it prove that it is nearly indestructible. More troubling is the ominous digital timer on the top of the device, slowly ticking down from 01:00:00. One hour.

What the new arrivals don't know is that in one hour, the devices will explode... Into confetti! The device is basically a timed Party Ball you wear on your wrist, complete with happy jingle and a teeny-tiny banner that says, "WERCOME TO HAPPY CITY, ARR OF GUEST!"

(Welcome to the DR! As with all events, this one is completely optional, but we thought we'd give you something fun to start with! The DR is now officially open to IC posts! We again ask that you please read the rules and familiarize yourself with the setting before posting! Have fun!)

Quake Woman had no idea how she appeared to point A to point B. It was a peculiar set of circumstances that was for certain. Not that it mattered. Her primary objective had been disrupted by being somehow displaced into a different city. It was hard not to notice the device upon her wrist with a the time ticking down. She had attempted to disable it but to no avail.

Quake Woman moved on in trying to sending communications to Dr. Lalinde but it had all ended in failure. Her next option was to go to higher grounds, to get a better look of her new surroundings which yes, led to the very same random rooftop Zero was laying on.

Once there, Quake Woman does take a moment to regard Zero in silence before proceeding to walk past him and closer to the edge. Surely she would be able to spot an area to seek better information from.

Zero instantly noticed when Quake Woman clanked onto the roof, but in his sour mood he wouldn't have bothered to physically turn his head to look at her. He naturally assumed that she was just another reploid out doing whatever. Couldn't be a Maverick since every Maverick ever recognized him and immediately began shooting or gloating.

When she actually looked down at him, however, he had to blink curiously. Her design didn't look like any reploid he's ever seen; in fact, it looked old. The young lady's completely blank expression just piqued his curiosity even more, and he watched her quietly move toward the edge to get a better look around.

Okay, that was weird. He hadn't yet seen someone with such ... not empty, but blank eyes. There was intelligence in there to be sure, but not much else. Zero sat up, then rose to his feet and calmly walked to her side. Maybe she was a resident of this place.

"Do you know which city this is?" he asked.

Quake Woman stopped her surveillance of the area when Zero spoke. Slowly she turned her gaze to him. Her expression showed no signs of change, and her voice was just as emotive.

"I do not."

She will take a moment to observe Zero closer. He certainly wasn't a model she recognized. He had to be a newer model, judging by his appearance and the peculiar style of armor he wore. Judging from his line of questioning he had to have been thrown into the same predicament as her.

"What is your identification? I do not recognize you."

Zero had seen a lot of things, but never a being as non-emotive as this one. Not even Robot Masters had that blank of a look or that deadpan of a tone (at least, according to history texts). He stopped the urge to internally shiver, and instead bristled at her answer.

"Great."

He let her study him, which gave him a moment to do the same. She certainly didn't look like much, and she had no obvious weapons on her. Probably just a civilian model.

"The name's Zero," he answered her, "S-Rank Maverick Hunter, commander of Special Elite Unit 0. What about yourself?"

Quake Woman listened, taking mental notes of Zero's identification. Although at the term "Maverick" was on the ambiguous side for her. So his primary function was to hunt down unbranded range animals? He didn't look the type from his appearance.

"I am Quake Woman. I am made for geological surveying."

Her response was blunt and to the point. She wasn't much of a conversationalist that was for sure.

Zero widened his eyes just a touch at Quake Woman's name. So, she was a Robot Master! She must have been very good at her job to survive this long without deactivating, and she must also have had a good owner for her to not have broken down after so long.

"I see," he replied, smiling a little in politeness, "Nice to meet you." Zero was fine with her few words, as he was more of that type himself. With that, he looked back out on the city to survey it. He wondered if it was coincidence that both of them wound up in a place they didn't recognize. Either way, it would probably do to ask some locals about the place.

"See you later, Quake," he bid, leaping off the roof and grasping at the building with one hand, deftly sliding down the wall and only kicking up some dust without damaging the masonry. He landed with a light clank and strode off into the streets.

Quake Woman gives an acknowledging nod in response to Zero. Unlike him, she only had a passing thought on his appearance and his classification. He had given her the information she sought and that was that. Once he bid farewell, Quake Woman continued to stand upon the edge of the roof watching him descend down to the streets.

She doesn't wait until he was out of sight to continue on her own brand of surveillance. It shouldn't take long for her to spot her next set of destination from this height, wherever it may be.
